AIMST University has long achieved a reputation for providing affordable, wholesome and quality education for all.
The founding fathers of AIMST ensured the entire infrastructure was in place, including well-equipped labs, lecture theatres, library, cyber labs, hostels, a sport complex with an Olympic-sized pool, basketball, badminton, squash and tennis courts for maintaining a healthy body and cafeteria.
The School of General and Foundation Studies in AIMST imparts a good foundation programme to hone the young minds of future leaders.
Foundation programmes in Science, Physical Science and Business prepare them for their chosen fields of study.
At the end of a year, the pool of fresh minds is ready to move on to AIMST University's diploma, degree, master's and doctoral programmes.
The university offers diplomas in nursing, physiotherapy, business management and electrical and electronic engineering, which take approximately 2 1/2 to three years to complete.
The many degree courses offered at AIMST University need no introduction and eliminate the need for a foreign education.
Degree programmes in business, electrical and electronic engineering, biotechnology, pharmacy, dentistry and medicine are popular.
Some courses have waiting lists.
Engineering and Business students receive industrial apprenticeship before being absorbed into the workforce and this gives them an edge in the workforce.
Students from the Faculty of Business, too, have an opportunity to participate in an exchange programme with the Bordeaux Business School in France.
AIMST's master's in anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and biotechnology are ongoing and AIMST has received numerous requests to include more specialisations to its pool.
The postgraduate degree in biotechnology is research-oriented, focusing on the priority sectors identified by the government.
In 2009, Kedah appointed AIMST University as a lead consultant in drafting the "Biotechnology road map for Kedah".
In due course AIMST will provide other degrees and specialisations to suit the needs of the nation, further enhancing opportunities for well-rounded education at an affordable cost.
